How a Canadian resume is different
It is short and focused: two pages at most, newest first, opening with a summary and key skills. The Government of Canada’s Job Bank advises leaving out a photo, age, height, weight, marital status, religion and political views, and never including your Social Insurance Number.
Achievements, not duties
Employers look for results: “Cut delivery time by 20%” beats “Responsible for deliveries”. Start each bullet with a verb, keep 5–7 bullets per job, tailor the resume to each posting, and keep references on a separate sheet for when they are asked for.
